Dibakana Mankessi, Congolese writer and winner of the Grand Prix Afrique 2023 for his fourth novel ‘Le psychanalyste de Brazzaville”, talking about the recent History of the Republic of Congo, has received tribute in a ceremony organized in the International Publishing book fair, on the 17th of May 2024.

Dibakana Mankessi, who is also the author of numerous studies in the humanities, is a renowned writer and sociologist. He teaches sociology and writes powerful stories that enrich contemporary African literature.

'Le psychanalyste de Brazzaville', offered us an immersion into the contemporary History of the Republic of Congo, as presented by Dibakan Mankessi during his lecture, moderated by Jalila Maati. This session also revealed the depths of the author’s passion for literature.

In this interview, Mankessi shared his vision of writing as therapy and self-discovery. Since his thirties, his writing projects started taking shape, inspired by the realities around him. During his talk, he confessed his writing experiences. "We let ourselves be guided by the story", he added, underlining the intuitive nature of his literary work.
