SIEL 2026: Mustapah Ghobari and Abdelaziz Elmajdoub presenting “Nass El Ghiwane: In the Company of Omar Sayed”
Hosts
At the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication stand during SIEL 2026, a conference introduced the newest book of author Mustapha Ghobari : “Nass El Ghiwane: In the Company of Omar Sayed”, presented by journalist Abdelaziz El Majdoub.
According to Ghobari, what makes this work distinctive is its approach. Instead of analyzing Nass El Ghiwane as a collective phenomenon, the author focuses on individual paths especially that of Omar Sayed, one of the founding and enduring figures of the group. Through this perspective, the book sheds light on the human side of the artist, beyond his public image.
During the discussion, Abdelaziz El Majdoub noted that the author’s personal connection with the group, particularly his friendship with Omar Sayed, allowed him to provide a deeper and more intimate account of his career.

Drawing on a close personal connection with the artist, the author explores key moments, personalities, and memories from inside the group. The work also includes portraits of iconic group members such as Larbi Batma.
More than a biography, the book captures a unique artistic journey telling the story of a man who helped shape one of Morocco’s most influential musical experiences.
