Sixth Edition Award Ceremony Highlights Moroccan-Palestinian Educational Ties

Rabat, April 27, 2025, the sixth edition of the "Colors of Al-Quds" competition, dedicated to school students, concluded today with a vibrant award ceremony organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports.

In his words, Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, Managing Director of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, emphasized the broader significance of the event: "This is not merely a drawing and coloring competition; it is a platform to revive the culture of arts. The enthusiastic participation from both Morocco and Jerusalem encourages us to dedicate more time to art in our educational curricula. A total of 185 secondary schools from the Marrakech-Safi region took part. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the winners and to everyone who made this competition possible."

The event also saw the signing of a protocol for future cooperation, with Mustapha Salfani playing a key role in laying the groundwork for next year’s partnership. Meanwhile, Mohamed El Qorchi received an honorary shield in recognition of his outstanding efforts in supporting the event.

Representing the Minister of Education, Abdelmoumen Taleb, Director General of School Life Organization, conveyed a message of encouragement, saying:"It is with great pride that I join you today on behalf of the Minister, reaffirming the strong partnership between the Ministry and the Agency. Thanks to His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s wise and continuous defense of Al-Quds, this competition stands as a distinguished initiative promoting creativity among students. I also commend the Agency for offering scholarships to students in need."

Palestinian Ambassador Jamal Al Shobaki t pointed out that even though children in Jerusalem suffer terrible conditions, with schools being closed and thousands of children killed, they continue to express themselves through writing and drawing. He described the competition as a bridge that connects Morocco and Jerusalem, and he thanked King Mohammed VI for his ongoing support of Palestine.

The awards were handed out by Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication. The winners included Douaa, who won first prize, while Adam Bekkas, Mohamed Belkacem, and Hajar Bouhaddas shared third place.

The "Colors of Al-Quds" competition stands as a shining example of how art can foster resilience, hope, and unity. By nurturing young talent and strengthening cultural ties between Morocco and Palestine, this initiative reaffirms a collective commitment to creativity, solidarity, and the defense of a shared heritage.
