Amidst an atmosphere of joy and passion, the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid cut the ceremonial ribbon on June 1st, 2023 starting the 28th edition of the International Publishing Book Fair (SIEL) at OLM Souissi, Rabat.
Rabat is hosting the 28th edition of Siel, one of the most prestigious literary events, scheduled from June 1st to 11th bringing together writers, publishers, and readers from around the globe. “We expect a large attendance this year, just as we have in past editions, as it offers citizens of all ages a chance to connect with their favorite authors and explore new books “Mr. Bensaid states at the opening ceremony.
During the grand ceremony, Mr. Bensaid visited various booths, engaging in interesting discussions with their representatives. The stands are thoughtfully arranged, and organized by genre and country, creating alleys that facilitate the visitors' experience in the exploration of the rich tapestry of literature from different cultures displayed in the SIEL 2023.
To conclude the opening ceremony, the minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid expressed his hopes for a bigger success for this edition "We hope that this year will be as successful as the previous one...It attracted a large number of Moroccan visitors from all regions of the country."
This ceremony marked the beginning of an enriching literary adventure and days filled with exploration, lively debates, encounters with inspiring authors, and memorable book signings.
