Founder of the Publishing House “la croisée des chemins”, the late Abdelkader Retnani left a important impact on each of his friends and family members. Yassine Retnani defines his late father as “An exemplary citizen” who taught to his family the love of the country, and respect of its people.
Abdelkader Retnani had a devoted involvement towards the moroccan culture, books and literature. Still ,the main attribute, he was known for, was his engagement for feminism. He was a women’s advocate, their confident and their friend. His wife Amina Alaoui bears witness of his comittement for women’s cause. One of the stories, she still remembers, was his continuous encouragement to her to keep working and producing. He was strongly believing in her impact in the publishing industry and keeps reminding her of this.
Neila Tazi, president of the federation of cultural and cinema industries, expressed gratitude to Mr Abdelkader Retnani, by remembering how he has always been there for her, during the hardest moments. He was known to be reliable and effective. He believed strongly in investing in culture, as the main path to human development.
