A language holds a culture that travels through words and expressions. Lately, English became the first choice of young moroccans either in a formal or informal way.
The Youngs’ identity has been evolving toward a quest of freedom of speech, related to the American Dream. This is the main pushing factor behind moving from the use of french to english in everyday life, as expressed by Marwan Fachan.
In a multilingual country like Morocco, the english language is learned through music, tv shows or series more than academically by the Young.
During this panel, Marwan Fachan, head of foundation Hiba, adresses this phenomenon. He also noted the unability of young people to correctly write a sentence they just said.
This has never been a barrier toward learning English, in its different aspects. According to the experience of Ms Nina Yermakov Morgan working wih young moroccans, the English language has a promising future in Morocco. Youngs are developing their english. While the trouble in writing english is a universal problem facing all youngs all over the world , even in the United States of America.
