The event was highlighted by the recognition of Moroccan journalist Nadia Salah, co-founder of the Ecomédias Group. Her outstanding career, characterized by a commitment to high journalistic standards and bold coverage of economic and social issues, was marked by an award presented by Younes Moujahid, President of the National Press Council. Following the tribute, Nadia Salah delivered a heartfelt speech, reflecting on her lifelong dedication to truth, and the responsibility of informing the public.
Another honoree was the Moroccan tv presenter, Touria Souaf, who received her award from Moroccan journalist Fatima Zahra Ouriaghli. In her speech, Souaf expressed her gratitude and emphasized the importance of perseverance and integrity in the media industry.
The radio and tv journalist, Ahmed Bhiri, was also honored during the event, with the award handed to him by Abdelkrim Bennani, president of the association “Ribat Al Fath”. Bhiri then addressed the audience, thanking his peers and speaking about journalism as a lifelong learning process.
The ceremony concluded with a tribute to journalist and writer Jamal El Mouhafid, who received his award from Moroccan human rights activist, Driss El Yazami. El Mouhafid took the opportunity to thank the council and underlined the need to preserve journalistic ethics in the face of modern-day challenges.
This celebration, organized by the National Press Council, reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to promoting a culture of recognition and continuity within Moroccan journalism.
